‘Tis the season, it seems! If you’re reading for awards this year, I had a few pieces out, and the ones I’d most appreciate your consideration of:
“Blood, Bone, Seed, Spark” – Beneath Ceaseless Skies, February 2019. A mad scientist grapples with greatness and a societal obsession with death. Glory requires great sacrifice … doesn’t it?
“Shelter, Sustenance, Self” – Fireside, July 2019. An examination of parenthood and identity through the lens of an uploaded mind.
“A Song for the Leadwood Tree” – Beneath Ceaseless Skies, August 2019. One woman’s hopes for her country and her adopted son crash together in one climatic battle against an invading army.
“His Heart is the Haunted House” – Apparition Lit, July 2019. This is not a ghost story, but it is a ghost’s story, about the agency and its denial to the dead women whose stories would-be heroes recite to themselves over and over again.
Thank you for your consideration!
